When was the last time you exercised your plan?
Having an emergency plan for your community is a good thing, but when was the last time your group exercised it? Are all your contacts up to date? And does everyone have access to the most recent version?
The LRF recommends that your community emergency plan is updated annually to make sure it remains active and fit for purpose. Once updated you should also exercise it: This is to identify any gaps and to allow everyone involved to see the plan in action. You can exercise your community emergency plan at anytime either as a discussion-based exercise or as a more practical live exercise involving the wider community and volunteers.
To help you, the LRF have created an exercise request portal for all community response teams to use when planning to exercise their plans.
